Any fax program should have a minimum set of functions for one to be
able to say it is fax software. However, more often than not, simply
the ability to send and receive faxes is insufficient for us as users.
Any fax program can do this. Besides, we want the software to be convenient
to use and easily mastered
by someone who is familiar with a fax machine but has never seen fax
software. We want the software to support useful and diverse features
that set it apart from other fax programs. Finally, we do not want its
design to make us yawn, which happens when using certain other office
programs. ;-)
The first version of VentaFax for Windows was released in 1997(!).
It was a typical piece of fax software at that time. The only thing
that made it a little different from the other fax programs was its
original interface that imitated real-time fax machine operation. Its
additional capabilities were developed later, step-by-step. Most of
the new functions were added in response to demands from our numerous
users, who helped us ultimately to perfect VentaFax. In 2000 VentaFax
acquired a voice, thus becoming an attractive alternative to the home
or office fax and answering machines, able to receive voice and facsimile
calls just as well as these.
